Visual Design
Some motion graphics, design and art direction examples from my time on the marketing team.
Data Vis
Data visualizations I created for the UX team to go along with user persona/brand research, created in Figma.
UX Work
Near the end of my tenure I also began shadowing and assisting the UX team, which was a great learning experience. I spent a lot of time in meetings, asked a lot of questions, gave some feedback and I participated in a hackathon. Acting as the UX designer on my team was intimidating but I am proud of the work we created in such little time.
The Problem: With 1000’s of new products on Zulily every day, our customer is often overwhelmed and has a hard time finding what they want.
Our Solution: A variety of filters as well as sort and search options empower the customer to fine-tune their browsing experience. We also presented ideas to create better hierarchy for popular or featured items.

Click the below images for notes.
Our first level of smart filtering was to provide the customer with these "quick filters" (1) on the homepage that allow them to enter any given sales event directly into a top-level category.

Upon entering the event, the same style of quick filters (2) is presented to you at the top of the page, now with sub-categories based upon your initial selection. Elsewhere on the event page, we added editorial imagery (3) and video (4) along with carousels of various style options for those featured products.

A simple sort option was also added, along with high-level category and size drop-downs.

For the customer who really wants to drill down to their specific needs, more powerful filters, in collapsable menus, as well the ability to search within the event help them to find exactly what they are looking for, fast.
